| For a tour of the school: Please contact Timothy Jahn Frequently Asked Questions | Fees & Tuition Q. How do I take slides of my work? A. Taking slides is just like taking photographs, except you use slide
film. Slide film can be purchased at most photography supply stores
and many convenience stores. It is best to use 100-speed day light
slide film (only use tungsten film if you are using tungsten lighting.)
For best results and truest color, set up your artwork straight up and down
on an easel out side on a cloudy day. Study your camera by placing it on
a tripod, and center it on your image. When viewing your image through the
camera, frame your image as tight as possible so the piece takes up most
of the view. When exposing the slide film make sure your image is
in focus and if you have a manual camera bracket the exposures. Don’t
use a flash and don’t shoot your drawings under glass. Please submit
your slides to Academy duCret in a plastic slide sheet. A. The Academy provides tours Monday through Friday
from 9:30 to 3:30 by appointment. Download
